Our role is simple: make Tasman a better place for young people to live.

Thirty one members have been recruited to represent the Tasman Youth Council for the 2015 year.

About The Tasman Youth Council

We have four regional clusters:

  • Golden Bay
  • Motueka
  • Murchison and
  • Waimea

Each cluster works on projects and initiatives relevant to the needs of young people in their communities.  This often includes collaberation and partnership work with local community groups and agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

Our role also includes helping the Tasman District Council with decision making and planning around the provision of services and facilities for Tasman's young people.

We sponsor The Jam Show,  a youth-hosted weekly radio programme on Fresh FM which looks at youth issues, and informs listeners about local and regional youth activities.

Got Something to Say?

We advocate on behalf of all young people in the region. If you have an idea or an issue - we want to hear about it.

You don't have to be a member of the Tasman Youth Council to have your say.

There are many ways that young people can have their voices heard around topics and issues that they are passionate about. Find out how you can have your voice heard
